To Love One Man

To love one man,

As you have loved no other.

To see your future in his dark, unfathomable eyes.

To be humbled by his earnest, worthy character,

And be proud to be his helpmate.

For him to adore you.

To awaken to his kisses warming your face.

To see a sunrise in his eyes.

For him to embrace you and entwine his fingers in your silken locks unconsciously,

As he unravels his dreams.

To know you are a part of all of them,

To know he dreams of you.

To laugh, cry, and love each day into a memory,

Each one a precious watercolor to be treasured,

To save and spend each one carefully,

As we are not promised the time with which we are painting them.

To be drawn into him and unto him.

To exist within him and him within you.

To be miles away,

Yet as close as you have ever been.

To know that you are each other’s destiny.

To strive together for one eternity. To love one man.
